Trace Eraser is a privacy suite for Windows computers. This application allows you to carry out three tasks that will help you to erase your tracks so that no one can gather information about you.
The first feature is the Privacy Protector and Evidence Eraser, which is a fancy name for a cookies and temporary Internet files eraser. That is all it does: it scans your computer for cookies left by your web browsers and deletes the temporary files so that no one can know the sites you have visited.
The second feature is the Secure Delete Files and Folders option. This is actually a nice tool. Clicking on the title will take you to a separate window, in which you will be asked to add files so that you can wipe them. Securely deleting files is the way to go when you don't want pryers to know anything about you. The feature supports queueing operations and everything is really to the point.
The third option is Secure Delete Disk Drives. It is a formatting utility that writes dummy data on your hard drive after formatting, so no one can recover it. All three features work pretty well. The only thing I don't like about the application is that there are links to the company's products placed all around the interface. So, you might be clicking Optimize your PC thinking that you are going to activate a function within the application and, all of a sudden, you are taken to an ad featuring a separate application.
